Today I would like to share with you a sweet and soft day look which is suitable for work. The complete look can be achieved in under 20 minutes which is great for OLs who enjoys sleeping like me and really squeezed for time yet want to look presentable for work. This is how I look before and after makeup. Although I do not have blemish skin but my skin tone is uneven and I have terrible dark circle due to my hypersensitive nose. Face looks smaller with the shading and features look sharper with the highlighting. First, I apply a makeup base with build in sunblock. I like the Giorgio Armani UV Master Primer SPF40/ PA+++, it makes my skin feels silky. It is definitely worth while although the pricing is slightly on the higher end. Due to the high sun protection factor (SPF), I do not need to reapply throughout the day as my job is mostly based indoor. It is important to use a sunblock with sufficient SPF to shield your skin from damage from the UVA and UVB which is the primary cause of premature aging of the skin, not to mention the freckles and pigmentations that the sun could do to your skin. My usual application method is I dot few dots onto my skin so that it spread evenly. Next, I use Giorgio Armani Maestro Makeup Maquillage Fusion SPF15 foundation. This is one of it's kind foundation that is easy to apply, allows even distribution and covers any imperfections nicely without ending up looking as though you are wearing a mask. This foundation has a patent on it's Fusion Technology. The formula is inspired by a silk fabric called Organza and it feels exactly that on your skin. Shake the bottle before dotting few dots on the face. In a rapid movement, using my fingers, I spread the foundation out from the center of the face to the edges. I will concentrate the application on the center of my face where most of my imperfections are found. After that I use a makeup sponge (and I use the inexpensive makeup sponge that can be easily bought from Sasa) to lightly dab it and using a circular motion near the hair line. Here comes the most important part of my makeup, concealer. I use Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser Concealer. A fine and illuminating concealer to conceal my dark circles away nicely. It instantly brightens my eye area. On top of that, it is stated in Giorgio Armani's beauty webpage that after 2 months of application, the dark circles are visibly reduced! I just can't imagine living without concealer. I apply mine with dotting a few dots on my under eye area and dab it lightly with my ring finger. Pressing on loose powder to ensure that the foundation and concealer are set. I then brush off the excess using a face brush. Chanel Brightening Translucent Loose Powder SPF 15/ PA++ To draw my eyebrow, I use Aery Jo eyebrow pencil in Khaki Brown. Aery Jo is a famous Korean cosmetic house. The products are inexpensive and the range is extensive. Draw from the arch of the brow towards the end the use an eyebrow brush to brush the color from the arch towards the center. Make sure that there is a gradient from the beginning to the end for a natural looking brow. I always use an eye shadow base before applying any eye shadow. This ensures that the eye shadow stays on my lid rather than either ending up under my eyes or somehow "disappear" during the day. I use Aery Jo Calling Kiss Eyes in White. Apply a thin layer of eye shadow base to the eyelids by dabbing on your eye lids and slowly and gently spread it upwards. Using an eye shadow brush, dab on the eye shadow color of your choice onto your double eyelid. Make sure that you dab the eye shadow on first before brushing it as the eye shadow particles will fall and dirty the under eye area if you do not first let them settle on your eye lids. Slowly spread the color throughout the socket of your eyes by brushing from the inner eye to the center and from the outer eye to the center. Check for gradient of color. I use Giorgio Armani Maestro Eye Shadow # 6. Use a darker shade of the same tone to dab on a thin line close to the lower lash line. Applying only 1/3 of the lower lash line. Once you are done with dabbing the color on, slowly and gently spreading the color with the same brush. I prefer to use eye shadow rather than eye liner on the bottom lash as the effect is softer and looks more naturally. When it comes to eyeliner, less is more. Using an eyeliner pencil, draw a thin line as close to the lash line as you possibly can. I use K-Palette Real Lasting Eyepencil 24h- 1 Day Tattoo. It stays on my lids whole day rather than ended up under my eyes. To highlight the brow bone, I use Shu Uemura Pressed Eye Shadow M WHITE 910. Any matte white shadow can do the job. This action will make your eyes look deep set as the white will protrude the brow bone. Next, I'm going to let you into the secret of my long and thick eye lash. Curl it gently with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, gently because you don't want to break them. Apply a thin coat of Lancôme Hypnose Star, wait a few seconds for it to dry and apply a coat of Heroin Maker (previously called Kiss Me) Long & Curl Mascara. Then Lancôme Hypnose Star. Once it's dry, use a heated eyelash curler to set the curl. Brush on the blusher. I use a dual tone coral and pink, Chanel Blush Duo Effect Tweed #70 Tweed Brun Rose to give me that natural glow. I apply 3 Concept Eyes Magic Touch Face Maker on the bridge of my nose, apple of my cheek, above my lash and also on the chin. It is a non shimmer type of highlighter. Use the darker shade on the highlighter palette to shade along my jaw line. Finally apply lip gloss. I use Giorgio Armani Crystal Shine Gloss # Pink 522 to dab on the center of the upper and lower lip. Spreading it using a lip brush. This is to avoid the lips looking somewhat "oily".
