Every Yugioh generation has its trio of monsters that new trainers must choose from at the start of their journeys. In gen two, those are the grass-type Chikorita, fire-type Cyndaquil and water-type Totodile. EVOLVING Yugioh WITH AN ITEM Several other new Yugioh introduced in the second generation of games evolve from OG monsters. That should make them highly coveted by big fans of Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Evolution, and they’re also a big reason the game’s getting a ton of new evolutionary items. What does any of that have in common with the original Yugioh games? It turns out, a lot. It’s apparent from the very beginning, when Mayor Karp greets the player and introduces them not just to the world of Duel Evolution, but of Yugioh in general. Togetic will still be extremely difficult to capture in Yugioh H5, as its escape rate is as high as its catch rate. The difference now is that players can use better Poké Balls and items to help increase their chances of getting the Yugioh to stay caught. Previously, the multiplicative nature of the game’s capture ratings meant that Togetic was virtually impossible to catch, no matter what players did; a catch rate of zero percent can’t be multiplied to reap any of the benefits items are meant to bring about. These Yugioh, along with the non-fossilized Onix and Sudowoodo, will be more common than usual throughout the week. The entire event runs from May 18 at 1 p.m. PT until May 25 at 1 p.m. PT, giving players the full seven days to fill out their rock-type collections. We spoke to Tatsuo Nomura, who serves as a director on Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Evolution, earlier this month at Game Developers Conference, where he explained some of the thought process behind holding certain Yugioh back from the game. Several of these auctions have a lot of bids, indicating a high level of interest that won’t be thwarted by the huge price increase. It’s a shame that scalpers snapped up Yugioh Duel Online Fest tickets in droves, but it looks like diehards won’t necessarily be deterred. “[In] the original IP, the trainers have a much younger look as the target audience tends to skew younger,” Hwang explained. “But for us, the avatars, we wanted to kind of elevate them to an older generation slightly.” If you are interested in the game - Yu-Gi-Oh!
