WOWband - RFID enabled-wristband and mobile app A potential source of revolutionary success in the Ocean Park This technology consists of two parts, namely the attachment of tags and the subsequent identification. Tags will be attached to the objects to be tracked in the first place. The tags can emit radio waves and would then be automatically identified by the use of electromagnetic fields. The information would then be collected and stored in the central data processing system. In view of the technology, RFID-enabled wristbands were created in US Disneyland in pursuit of enhancements to visitors of the resort. The functions include accessing to FastPass service, automatic storage of photos taken during the visit, booking venues or games station in advance and etc. However, there is the absence of such application in Ocean Park and it seems that Ocean Park needs RFID to enhance its competitiveness against the Disneyland in pursuit of prosperity of Ocean Park. Most of the functions of the “MagicBands” in the US Disneyland can be taken as reference to construe what would best suit the Ocean Park visitors for the betterments of the customer service. The account is activated upon the successful storage of personal information. For every new visit to the Park, simple biometric checks would be conducted to verify the users’ identities. Then, the users can enjoy a diverse types of services through the wristbands, e.g. online dining reservation, booking of seat for Dolphin shows, the purchasing of FastPass to avoid long queue, and GPS detection of locations.
