Hello, guys. There is a sad news today. Have you heard Hong Kong Cross Harbour Race before? The race was restarted in 2011. Until now, it is the sixth year. Unfortunately, there is someone diet in the race this year. And that shows some problem with the event. First of all, the number of the lifeguard is not enough in the event this time, Since the organizer set the number of participants from last year's 2,500 people to 3000 people this year. However, the number of lifeguards just increase 10 lifeguards. It seems the number of lifeguards is not enough to look around the whole venue of the event. As you know how wide of Victoria Harbor, so that lifeguards may not find the people who encounter drowning immediately and that cause delayed rescue. Also, I think the organizer should improve the standard of the testing. Since some participants may not have enough swimming abilities and skills to handle the event which need to cross the harbor. Since swimming in harbor is different between swimming in swimming. There are big waves and variable factors, participants who cannot meet the standard may have danger when they cross to the harbor. As the event should be jolly, I hope that there are no people get hurt and even die next time.
