During the award ceremony, student director Lu Yi said: “I’d like to thank Jebsen Industrial for making this possible and also to thank the judges for their recognition and encouragement. China Academy of Art School of Intermedia Art is delighted to be awarded the Champion’s Cup. We really appreciate the opportunity to use the top filmmaking equipment and we are inspired to go forward, refining our style and striving for our movie dream, step by step.” One of the competition judges Professor Gao Hong Ming of Shanghai Normal University congratulated the winners and said: “This new video competition is a valuable opportunity for the next generation of filmmakers to hone their skills through a meaningful and demanding challenge. The quality of the creative videos they produced over the past five months underscores the wealth of talent we have here in Greater China. To support the sustainable development of the filmmaking industry, we hope that more enterprises adopt Jebsen Industrial’s vision and seek to build bridges between the film industry and academia by cultivating young movie-making talent.” “The contest has been an incredibly satisfying journey, as we have been to showcase the talents of our region’s up-and-coming filmmakers,” added Lorenz Zimmermann, Managing Director of Jebsen Industrial. “The BRAiN iT ON! Student Video Contest aims to help nurture a new generation of filmmakers and support the renaissance of the film industry in Greater China. This lofty goal is not one we can achieve alone, and Jebsen Industrial is very pleased to have had the support of industry experts who contributed their time and effort as judges, as well as our international equipment sponsors and local partners. We would also like to thank the talented young filmmakers who have embraced the challenge and made full use of this opportunity to work with the industry’s best equipment, learn from our panel of judges, and share their experiences with their peers from across the region.” Jebsen Industrial is also encouraging members of the public to have their say in an online poll to elect the most popular team. Votes can be cast at www.brain-it-on.com from now until August 31, 2013 simply by clicking the "Like" button. Voters are encouraged to share the link with their friends in Sina Weibo and Jebsen Industrial Weibo to help their favourite video win. BRAiN iT ON! will continue in 2015 The BRAiN iT ON! Student Video Contest is a biennial competition open to university students in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Jebsen Industrial has earmarked more than HK$5 million to foster creative talent through the contest over the next six years. “The 2015 competition will retain the corporate video format since this has proven to be a good test of our aspiring filmmakers, requiring them to be creative and to exhibit both good storytelling skills and well-honed technical abilities. However, instead of having Jebsen Industrial as the subject, which was the case this year, we will find another industrial enterprise to feature in 2015, while continuing to organise and fully support the competition,” Mr. Zimmermann said. Jebsen Industrial is a subsidiary of Jebsen Group, founded in 1895. A focused marketing and distribution organisation, it represents international partners for a wide array of premium industrial, consumer, beverage and luxury products, with a unique and long-established presence in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
