Bryan的故事二十八 Bryan's chapter 28 《孤獨星球》教會我的一件事 The lesson "Lonely Planet" taught me 《孤獨星球》被奉為自助旅行者的聖經，一本在手，天南地北的旅遊資料都在手裡。我在意大利的半年裡，也有一本《孤獨星球－意大利》伴隨著我從北到南遊走。 《孤獨星球》裡面的實用資訊，至今我也覺得沒有其他旅遊書可以代替，可是，《孤獨星球》也教會我一件事，就是不要跟從任何推介。那天，我一人手持《孤獨星球》，來到了意大利托斯卡納的中世紀古城錫耶納，完成上午的遊覽後，我開始為我的午餐籌謀。反正茫無頭緒，又獨自行事，我決定嘗試跟著《孤獨星球》的介紹，來到一間在寧靜橫巷的小餐館。托斯卡納作為意大利的魚米之鄉，我一定要嘗嘗地道的美食！ 尋找了一會兒，來到了介紹的餐廳，餐廳內只有寥寥數人。我又按照了《孤獨星球》的介紹，點了一個Ribollita，《孤獨星球》解說是Tuscan soup，托斯卡納的湯。作為一個「第一道菜」，意大利的湯是澱粉類的飽肚食物，但沒有意料到的是，餐桌上的「湯」比我心目中的「意大利湯」更濃稠，超越了我對湯的理解。而味道，亦有一陣奇怪的酸味，那不是食物變壞的酸味，也不至於不能下嚥，是令肚子不能滿足的酸味。 午餐過後，我繼續下午的遊覽。學會的事情是，我應該「走到哪裡食到哪裡」，懶理旅遊書的介紹。 "Lonely Planet" is always praised as the Bible of self-travelers. With a book in hand, traveling info around the world becomes handy. In my half-year time in Italy, I had a "Lonely Planet Italy" followed me tour from the north to the south. "Lonely Planet" provides all sorts of useful information that others cannot offer. But it also taught me a lesson: not to follow the recommendations. I traveled to Siena, Tuscany only with my "Lonely Planet". After a few hours of sightseeing, I started to figured out my lunch. Without any ideas, I decided to follow the recommendation of the book, to try some local Tuscan cuisine. After some searching, I arrived in the small restaurant in an alley. There were just a few people inside. I ordered a "Ribollita" (Tuscan soup) as suggested by the book. I knew that as soup in Italy are first courses, it is always very starchy and can fill up one's stomach. However, the "soup" served was even starchy-er than what I expected, followed with an unexpected sour taste. After the lunch, I resumed my tour. A lesson was learnt: I should eat wherever I go, and neglect the recommendations. 照片 Photo： 其實可能那陣酸味是正常的味道，與那餐廳無關，但花時間去找一間餐廳，期望著美食而最後不得其所，我還是覺得應該「走到哪裡食到哪裡」。 Maybe the sour taste was exactly what the soup should taste like, not because of the cooking of the restaurant.
