In the last year, I had having the Sports Coaching Theory Course in Hong Kong Sports Institutes (HKSI). The reason why I apply this course was I want to increase my knowledge and experience in coaching. I am a part-time badminton coach now, and I hope that after learning the knowledge which can apply in my job. At the beginning, HKSI had arranged a course introduction for us. During the introduction, it was introduce the course outline. In the course, we need to study 10 modules. There will have the assignments, exam and group presentation. Especially we need to complete the fieldwork. We need to get pass in this few items, and then we can get the certification on Sports Coaching Theory. For me, I thought that the fieldwork is most challenge part. It’s because I need prepare many things. For example, the schedule in every lesson, expect the learning outcome for the students and communicate with the coach. Luckily that some lecture knowledge I had been learning in the Yi Jin Diploma and Higher Diploma, therefore I will easily to understand what the lecturer said. When we were almost finishing the lecture, it was the time that we need to prepare the fieldwork. During the process, there will have some module lecture to assess our fieldwork. It made me feel more worried that I couldn’t meet the standard. However, I tried to say to myself: I must try my best then I will get have a good performance. In result, I was satisfied my performance during the fieldwork. Also, the lecturer said that I had a good time arrangement and well using the coaching knowledge in the lesson. Her comments made me feel unbelievable, because many students said that she was very strict on the marking. Although she gave some suggestion how to improve my coaching skills, it was good experience that I can apply it in the future. At the beginning, I thought that having this course was very challenging. But I have no regret that I can learn more coaching knowledge in this course and improve it in the future.
