My heart cannot take too many games like that Khairi Fortt Jersey , but this season is just starting to feel special, isn’t it?A win is a win, and it was another roller coaster of an adventure with plenty of ups and downs along the way. Here are a couple that stood out.Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY SportsUp: Drew BreesLet’s get this one out of the way.Drew seems to be making history game-by-game nowadays. This week, he threw his 500th touchdown pass of his career and managed to finally shake the monkey off his back that was beating the Baltimore Ravens. Drew has joined Brett Favre and Peyton Manning as the only three quarterbacks in NFL history to beat all 32 NFL teams.Individually, Drew finished the game 22/30 for 212 yards and 2 TDs. He has still yet to throw an interception in the 2018 season. A big “up” for Drew.Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY SportsUp: Sean PaytonSay what you will about the botched option play at the end of the Saints long, opening drive, but it’s easy to see the logic behind the call. Coach Payton called this game like a playoff game, making aggressive decisions and pushing all of the right buttons as the game went on. He went it on fourth down multiple times, successfully executed a fake punt, and caught the Ravens defense off-guard late with aggressive passing plays. You could tell that this game was important for Sean and Drew, and they played like it.Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY SportsUp: Demario DavisIt’s been a while since a Saints individual defensive player made the “Ups” list, but Demario Davis absolutely deserves it.He’s been one of the brightest spots (along with Cam Jordan and the constantly-improving Marcus Davenport) of the Saints defense all season. He finished today’s game 6 total tackles, including a huge tackle-for-loss on a big third down stop. He’s playing at a Pro Bowl level, and it’s time for the league - and Saints fans - to take notice.Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY SportsDown: Defensive Play-CallingWhatever Dennis Allen is doing for the majority of games this season isn’t working. It’s time to make in-game and in-season adjustments.Rushing two down linemen in the red zone isn’t working. Playing Ken Crawley way off the line to allow opposing receivers to sit in front of him for easy completions isn’t working. It’s time to make adjustments. The Saints needs to either change their defensive scheme to fit the performance of their current personnel, or they need to change their personnel.Patrick Peterson, anyone? Winners of eight games in a row, the New Orleans Saints (9-1) were facing one of the toughest challenge of their 2018 slate in a matchup with the wounded and desperate Philadelphia Eagles (4-6). The Saints would then fail to gain a first down on the next two plays and punt for the first time of the day. Incredibly, this was only the Saints’ 10th three-and-out of the entire season. The next Eagles’ drive would look promising, as Philadelphia found balance, running and passing their way into Saints’ territory. However, on a 3rd and 2 play, Sheldon Rankins would record his sixth sack of the season, forcing the Eagles to punt the ball back to the Saints.Taking over at their 16-yard line, the Saints would yet again for all the way down the field for a score, this time a touchdown pass from Drew Brees to rookie receiver Tre’Quan Smith, restoring New Orleans’ 17-point advantage at 24-7, with 39 seconds left. This time https://www.thesaintsfanshop.com/Michael-Hoomanawanui-Jersey , Philadelphia would punt the ball back to the Saints. After an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Alvin Kamara, the Saints would take over at their own 13-yard line and once again drive 87 yards for a touchdown, this one made on a 4th and 7 play, where Drew Brees found Alvin Kamara for a 38-yard pass right into the end zone, giving New Orleans a 45-7 lead.Trailing by 38, the Eagles go to the passing game and for the third consecutive possession, stall around their 34-yard line. Their second 4th down try of the game is thwarted by Marshon Lattimore breaking up a pass intended for Alshon Jeffery, as Saints take over.Ever smelling blood in the water, the Saints drive down the field, exclusively using running plays to drain the clock. The drive would result in a Wil Lutz’s 19-yard field goal, extending the Saints’ lead to 48-7.On Philly’s next possession, the Eagles would try and go deep, but Chris Banjo would intercept Carson Wentz at New Orleans’ 17-yard line, giving the Saints the ball back.New Orleans runs the ball three time and stalls, punting the ball back to the Eagles. On its final possession of the game, the Eagles get into Saints territory but Carson Wentz is intercepted in the end zone by Chris Banjo.
