At this week lesson, we watched a documentary called “The Armstrong Lie”. The documentary is about the famous cyclist Lance Armstrong, is an American former professional road racing cyclist. He had won the Tour de France seven consecutive times from 1999 to 2005, but was stripped of his Tour de France victories in 2012 after a protracted doping scandal. The whole documentary recorded what happen to Lance Armstrong during, before and after the doping scandal. As we all know, Lance Armstrong finally admitted he doped at the Tour de France at 2013, and he was named as the ringleader of the “The most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.” After viewing the movie, I start to think about doping nowadays. At the 2016 Olympic, lots of weight lifting players were discovered they doped, and they were stripped of their results too. But I don't think the anti doping committee catch all the people who have doped, with the improving technology different countries have smarter way to dope so the anti doping committee can not discover. The whole sport competition change to a technology competition instead, if your country own better technology, you can win the competition. In my opinion, it is not healthy for the sport development. Sports encourage people to train with their own effort, but rely on drug violate the outset of sports. I really hope that people can stop doping and let the competition become fair to everyone.
