(This is the screenshot of the Sulbing 설빙 official Korean website, looks so yummy right!) ) Hi, today I will be introducing you a Korean dessert brand. Sulbing and comparing it to another branch(?), Hanbing. (This is the screenshot of Sulbing's English website. Website is: http://en.sulbing.com/) Alright so first thing first, Sulbing (설빙) is a very popular dessert brand in Korea. The above picture is their official website screenshot. For the numbers of times I was in Seoul, summer and winter, different stores at different area is always packed. Some stores in the main shopping districts, for example Myeongdong, have to wait for seats. Sulbing's most well know and the best selling item is the Injeolmi snowflakes sherbet, the following picture. (Injeolmi snowflakes sherbet, a screenshot from their website.) (豆粉年糕雪冰,官網的截圖) I really really love this Injeolmi sulbing, here is my collection of injeolmi sulbing, eaten by me with my family or friends. (This was eaten in Decemeber last year, 2014. (This was eaten back in April this year. Look at Lim Siwan (임시완)! He is the actor from the Korean drama 'Misaeng' .) 是林時完耶~他是韓劇'未生'的男主角 ) (This was eaten in August this year with my family. Injeolmi and Preimum Mango coco snowflakes sherbet) (這是今年8月在韓國吃的豆粉和芒果雪冰) (These two is the Blueberry Cheesecake and Mango Ice-cream eaten in Hong Kong Hanbing eaten in Hong Kong around March this year ,2015) (這兩個是今年大概3月在香港的韓冰吃的藍莓芝士雪冰和特級芒果可可雪冰。) The reason I love Sulbing is because they are milky bingsu. I know earlier in summer, bingsu in really popular in Korea, however those are shaved ice. I personally prefer the milky kind. This trip to Korea, I had the Fresh Strawberry Snowflakes Sherbet. This Strawberry one is really good! The white thing is a red bean cake. Since I am not a fan of red bean, my friend had most it it. The strawberries in this sulbing are not too sweet or too sour, which is perfect. It also comes with extra strawberry sauces, which is the black little cup is for. I went to Hanbing with my friends who were visiting Hong Kong yesterday night again. We got the Injeolmi, Mango and the new Violet one. My friend said the purple bit on the top is taro paste. Another thing is, you will be looking for your own seats and go to the counter to place your order. Water, cutleries and napkins/serviettes are self served. But in Korea, once you have ordered, they will give you a little alarm thing like this. When your food is ready it vibrates and beeps to notify you you food is ready for pick up at the counter. You will be given a number at the Hong Kong's one and staff will bring your food to you. To conclude, the main differences between Sulbing and Hanbing are the price, sizes. The price in Korea is slightly cheaper. Most of them cost less than 10,000won, which is around HKD $70. But in Hanbing in Hong Kong they are usually $70 plus the 10% service charge. And the size is smaller. The bowel used in Korea is much bigger and wider. I tried eating one by myself and failed. But I am confident I can finish the Hong Kong one by myself. Ingredient wise I think Korea ones are more generous as well. (This is the Injeolmi sulbing comparison side by side. Left is Korean, right is Hong Kong. Final reminder: Hanbing Hong Kong charges a 10% of 'service charge' if you are eating at the store. Although there is not much service or whatever provided because you have to look for your own seats, go to the counter to order. They bring your order to your table, I guess thats the service charge part? But the 10% not included on the price on the menu, so remember that. 要記得哦~ 다음에 또봐요~ 안녕~~ ** This blog is not sponsored.
