The 2013 season will mark the start of a fresh chapter in the history of the UEFA Super Cup, with Prague hosting the first game of a new era. Staged in Monaco since it permanently changed to a one-off match in 1998, from this year forward the competition will be moving around the continent, with the Czech Republic its first stop. As UEFA Champions League winners FC Bayern München take on their UEFA Europa League counterparts Chelsea FC, UEFA Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee vice-chairman Petr Fousek promised a warm welcome. "We are proud to be the first hosts after Monaco," he said. "There is good hospitality, you can eat and drink and entertain yourself, and then the top football is the cherry on the cake. Chelsea have Petr ?ech, the top star of the national team. Those who have a ticket will be the lucky ones." After taking in the sights of Prague, the UEFA Super Cup will be held in Cardiff in 2014, and Tbilisi the following year. For the Czech Republic, the European competitions keep on coming. Having been staged in Israel this year, the UEFA European Under-21 Championship comes to Fousek's home country in 2015 – something he is also excited about. "We have this Super Cup, then the Under-21 final tournament, and we are thinking about a EURO 2020 bid because we would like to bring as many possible UEFA events to the Czech Republic," he explained. "We are very happy and expect success in the coming years."
