I have not been to a theme park in years so last week my friend and I decided to go to Thorpe Park for a day. Thorpe Park is situated in Staines, so in the morning we met up in Waterloo Station. We got an Off Peak Any Time ticket that was around £10 which included the journey from and to Waterloo Station. Here is our train! It was a fast train so only took us 32 minutes to Staines, a slightly slower train would take around 45 minutes so there is not much difference. After getting off at Staines Station, we also had to take a bus from outside the station for 15 minutes to Thorpe Park, it cost £3.50 for a return journey. Finally here we were~~!! We used a 2 for 1 voucher, so it was £46 for two tickets and it worked out £23 per person. We had to go through this building before reaching the theme park, inside the building there was a few restaurants and LOTS OF crane machines! There were even massive minions and small ones… Inside Thorpe Park, there was a fake beach! Shame we did not have time to hang out in there for a bit on the day We got a map of the park so we could plan our day more efficiently… the map was so cute~~!! This bottle cost £6 and we could get unlimited refills throughout the day. It actually worked out okay because bottled drinks are usually very expensive in theme parks. There was a lovely lake on the outskirt of the park Time to get down to business! I love the details in each ride. You can tell how much time and effort have been spent on designing them… We rode The Swarm backwards as advised by one of my colleagues… however we felt it would be better if we rode it facing forward so we could see where we were going which would probably scare us even more! 點擊圖片放大 We went on a few ‘wet’ rides but they were nothing compared to Tidal Wave… I was completely drenched after… 點擊圖片放大 I was soaked after the ride, fortunately it was a fine hot day so I was able to air dry myself naturally by going on other high speed rides There were also quick options for people who couldn’t stand being wet from head to toe. For £2 you can stand inside of one of these heat wave machines, I suppose they work like a hand dryer? A few more snapshots around the theme park 點擊圖片放大 There were crane machines around the park, and some very very cute prizes 點擊圖片放大 +2 For lunch we went to good old KFC 點擊圖片放大 The is Stealth. On the right hand side of the picture, it is supposed to say 0 to 80 mph in 2.3 seconds After the initial acceleration in 2.3 seconds, then it goes up then down… in an unbelievably high speed… My friend and I thought it would be fun to sit on the front row… it was fun but my stomach was churning after the ride Even stomach churning did not stop us from going on to other rides… And THIS, was the most fun ride we went on the whole day! This was the SAW ride, based on the movie SAW~~!! Even the queue was made like a prison area Ohhhh la laaaaaa The park closed at 5pm and we stayed until the very end. Then we took the bus to go back to the train station. While we were on the bus, it was hot and stuffy and we were stuck in traffic with it being peak hours, one of the passengers collapsed and ambulance was called. The rest of the passengers had to get off the bus half way and walked back to the station. It took us around 20 minutes to find the station but we saw some lovely scenery. This town hall looks like something from a fairytale! Eventually we made it back to the train station, took the train and arrived in London Waterloo station after a tiring but fun day out!
