In November 2012 my boyfriend and I went on a trip to Vietnam and Hong Kong. He was born in Vietnam but moved to Finland when he was a child and had not stepped foot in the country for years. Therefore we thought it would be interesting to visit his country and Hong Kong where I was born. Looking at the pictures from this trip, I realised I did not take too many pictures in Ho Chi Minh City... Ben Thanh Market - our favourite place for food. I love Vietnamese food and have had my fair share in London. Our hotel was only 5 minutes walk from Ben Thanh Market and it was one of the main reasons why we picked that hotel. Reunification Palace 點擊圖片放大 War Remnanst Museum - this was the only picture I took because I could not stand being inside the museum. It is definitely not for the faint hearted, some of the pictures were so horrid I could not bring myself to look at them. Women's Museum And a few more places... Central Post Office 點擊圖片放大 Souvenirs sold inside the post office City Catherdral Inside of Ho Chi Minh Museum - the interior was so pretty! While we were there we must have seen at least three couples taking their wedding pictures! 點擊圖片放大 +3 City Hall We also took a half day tour to Mekone Delta When we had our foot massage my boyfriend got talking to the masseuse and she recommended this pancake place where a lot of local people go. We were able to find the restaurant thanks to her or we would have never known or thought to look it up. Snails!! The last time I had snails was in Paris, did not think I would be eating them again in Ho Chi Minh City! But then on second thought, Vietnam used to be the colony of France, their cuisine is heavily influenced by the French culture.
