Solely based on personal observations on the road with no intent to discriminate any gender, the major crowd in Vietnamese market is female shopkeepers and shoppers (told by local that a man in market is a rarity as he could be easily ripped off there, and woman is doing the daily routines for most households). On the other hand, patrons at street side cafes are mostly male. What fascinated me was the female butchers in market! Cleaver powerfully raised and meat flesh chopped on board!
